My SOLE Purpose

I had the opportunity to make a difference! And I loved every minute of it!
A friend of mine put together a charity walk after she saw a mother in Payless Shoe Source that only had enough money to buy a pair shoes for her oldest child.  The mother then took the oldest childs shoes and put them on the feet of the middle aged child and the middle aged childs shoes were given to the youngest child.  My friend finsihed her shopping and went home to have a sleepless night.  The next day she put her thoughts into action and created "My SOLE Purpose...Every child should start school with a new pair of shoes."
My goal was to get enough sponcers to collect 5 $20 gift cards to Payless.  Thanks to kind, loving, and generous family and friends, I was able to donate 6 cards!  Thank you Lisa and Sandy!  Thank you Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Stan!  Thank you Aunt Susie and Jennifer, and thank you Toni!  You all made it SO easy!  It was really hard for me to ask people for money, even though it was not for me, it was for children whose parents can't afford shoes for their children!!  So many of us think our money is tight and we can't afford...but really we can!  And YOU did!!  Thank you!  The whole thing was a success, about 40 people walked and over 160 $20.00 cards were collected.  It was fun.  Thank you again for helping me make a difference and thank you to those who walked with me too.
