The Kids Fishing Derby

We took the kids to the fishing derby again this year.  All 3 of them were old enough this time and they all had a really good time.

Trevor caught his first fish within about 2 minutes.  The fish was hooked and as he was reeling it in, the fish jumped up on the shore without the hook in him.  It was like the old story of the fish jumping in the boat.

Travis was next to catch his 2 fish.  He wasn't a big fan of holding it, but he still had a great time.

Kendra always loves to hold the slimey things.  It took her a little longer to catch her 2 fish, probably because Dad was helping her, but she eventually got it done.

This is always a fun day for the kids.  The next fun part is teaching them about cooking and eating them.

Each one of the kids got to choose their own spices and such to put on their fish, as well as put it together and fold it up in foil to BBQ.

Here is one of the finished products for dinner.  It actually turned out pretty good.
